Speakers Give the Gift of Life Through Organ and Tissue Donation Campaign
National Speakers Association Supports National Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Week April 21-27
(TEMPE, Ariz) The National Speakers Association (NSA), the leading organization for experts who speak professionally, has implemented a special presidential initiative called the Gift of Life Organ and Tissue Donation Awareness Campaign. Since July 2001, NSA has educated the 4,000 members of the association about the importance of organ and tissue donation and the effect speakers can have on this cause.
In conjunction with the National Organ Donation Awareness week April 21-27, NSA is making a special plea to its members to spread the word about organ and tissue donation. Studies show that 85% of Americans believe in organ and tissue donation, yet only one third of the available donors actually give the gift of life. NSA's goal is to close this gap by encouraging all 4,000 professional speakers to speak to their audiences about donation.
Although the results of the campaign may be hard to measure, NSA is confident that the effect of the speaker's initiatives will potentially reach millions. "This goal is most definitely attainable because a single donor can extend and enrich the lives of up to 50 people," said NSA President Jim Rhode, CSP. "By then considering that NSA members reach thousands of people every year from the platform, you can immediately see the potential of this program and the wide scope it will have."
NSA's communication and education efforts have already been commended by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, which listed NSA as an official Workplace Partnership for Life member.
