I've had many, varied professional experiences which have given me a unique understanding and desire to listen and learn from as many people as possible. I've been fortunate to have served within the Addiction, Mental Health and Vocational Rehabilitation field.
"Remember the Patient. Remember those who help others." Dr. Don Berwick As a speaker, adult education scholar, patient and health care advocate my work is centered around that central theme.
We each have the desire to be appreciated but the way we want to be appreciated may be different. We each have the desire to speak our truth about our health care needs but the way we speak our truth may be different. We each have the desire for people to listen to our health care needs but the communication tools we chose to bring us a listening ear may be different.
Only when we chose to collaborate, respect the practical wisdom we each possess and listen, and I mean really listen do we have a chance to improve not only our own health but also the health of all people.
I invite you to visit my Twitter site so you can get a chance to see my tweets and the company I keep. My Twitter ID is Practical Wisdom in honor of the TED Talk given by Barry Schwartz on our loss of wisdom

Susannah Fox, of the Pew Internet and American Life Projects best describes my goal for each presentation.
"We are all on this adventure together, whether you are a researcher, a clinician, a patient, or an entrepreneur. You want to build value and contribute to better health. Your best chance is to band together with other people, stay humble, ask for – and offer – help."
